WHERE WE CAME FROM…
Abandon Productions traces its beginnings back to 2001 when we began the planning, promotion, and production for our first major event, Impact: Faith Over Fear, which occurred in early 2002. Six months of preparation were necessary to make this first event possible, and God truly blessed us when six decisions were made for Christ that night! Since that moment in time, God has opened many doors for our ministry. History Makers, a leadership and enrichment gathering, debuted in 2003 as our first conference-type event. It has occurred annually since and continues to focus on motivating attendees to make history in the name of Jesus Christ.
All Glory & Honor: A Night of Praise featuring Undone and Widows Mite occurred in late 2004 and was followed shortly after by Jason Morant: In Concert in early 2005. These events combined effectively launched our concert outreach series. Over the years Abandon Productions Ministry has either planned, promoted, or produced for events with the biggest artists in the Christian music industry including Toby Mac, Newsboys, Lecrae, Chris Tomlin, Skillet, Shane and Shane, Red, Grits, Bethany Dillon, and many more!
In 2007 Abandon Productions launched on a full-time basis officially incorporating as “Abandon Productions, Inc.” declaring our intent to organize as a non-profit, ministry-based organization. In the same year, the Restoration: New Orleans movement was launched with the mission to see New Orleans, LA, as “a city transformed” for Jesus Christ & continued as an emphasis in the 5 years following the devestation of Hurricane Katrina to New Orleans & the Gulf South.
Our reach continued to expand in 2009 when Abandon Productions in collaboration with the New Orleans Youth Minister’s Network launched the “U-Nite” event series with “U-Nite At The Hive,” an annual faith & family event with the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets, in addition to expanding the brand into other events with the New Orleans Zephyrs, New Orleans Bowl, & various rallies & city-wide initiatives. Also in 2011 we leveraged our work to assist in launching a seperate 501(c)(3) ministry called First Priority NOLA, a campus ministry strategy of “Students Reaching Students.” For more information visit www.fpnola.org
WHERE WE ARE GOING…
God has called us to a great mission at Abandon Productions Ministry. We have been commissioned to serve in one of the greatest mission fields of the 21st century, New Orleans, LA. While the reach of our ministry extends beyond the city, we see it as no accident that the Lord centered our ministry headquarters in the Crescent City.
Abandon Productions seeks to restore, renew, and revive people’s lives through various outreach events and initiatives effectively communicating the Gospel of Christ to a people greatly in need of God’s love. We then work to ensure those affected by our events are connected with and integrated into a local church.
Great things are on the horizon in 2012. We are so excited about the mighty works God is doing in and through our ministry in the coming year.
